How to compare Chinese EV parts quotes and delivered cost
The lowest advertised unit price may not be the lowest cost for the part you actually need. Compare like-for-like quotations before choosing a Chinese EV parts supplier, especially when the goods cross borders.
1. Make the specification identical
Use the same part number, revision, condition, quantity and destination in every enquiry. Separate genuine, aftermarket, refurbished and used offers rather than treating them as equivalent. Confirm whether a “piece” is one component or an entire set.
A price for a bare component cannot be compared directly with a complete assembly. Ask sellers to list what is included and identify any additional items the workshop says are necessary.
2. Build a delivered-cost comparison
Use: quoted item cost × quantity + freight + stated insurance + confirmed import and handling charges − documented discounts available to you. Record the currency and the quote’s expiry date. Taxes and fees depend on the destination and arrangement; ask the seller, carrier or broker to confirm them.
For illustration only: two identical parts quoted at 80 each with 70 shipping total 230 before any other charges. Two quoted at 95 each with 25 shipping total 215. The second quote has the higher unit price and the lower subtotal. These figures are an example, not live offers.
3. Make unknowns visible
Do not enter zero for an unstated cost. Label it “awaiting confirmation” and keep the offer out of a definitive cheapest-delivered comparison until the missing charges are resolved. Avoid treating a currency conversion as fixed if your payment provider will use a different rate.
- Who pays import charges and carrier handling fees?
- Is delivery to your postcode explicitly included?
- Does the delivery estimate start at payment or dispatch?
- Is stock confirmed for your quantity?
- What is the return address and who pays return freight?
4. Choose on cost and an acceptable service commitment
For a vehicle awaiting repair, a clear dispatch commitment may matter more than a small price difference. Ask for written stock, lead-time and return terms. Retain the quotation and fitment confirmation with your order record.
Chinese Electric Car Parts currently offers supplier discovery and buying guidance. No approved live product feed is connected, so we do not label a seller the cheapest or promise inventory that has not been verified.
